- Description: The Department of Energy, on behalf of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, invites applications for its advanced short-term research opportunity. This enables students enrolled in a graduate programme and recent MD or PhD recipients to conduct research in basic and applied sciences, energy and the environment. Applicants must be pursuing or within five years of receiving a master’s or doctoral degree at an accredited institution in the fields of technology, engineering or mathematics. There are no citizenship requirements, however applicants from outside the US must have a valid visa in order to receive the stipend. Participants receive a monthly stipend based on their level of education, research area and experience. Appointment duration ranges from one to 12 months with the possibility of a renewal for up to 24 months.
