Students will be involved in LEARNING activities and in RESEARCH

Learning is conceived in order to obtain an INTERDISCIPLINARY background

Students with a "biology degree" will take courses of Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematical modelling, Complex Systems

Students with a "quantitative degree" will have courses of Cell Biology & Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Genetics

RESEARCH activity is FUNDAMENTAL to this PhD programme. Students will select a general Theme among those published for each PhD Cycle, and start their activity under the guide of a Tutor.

At the end of the first year, Students are required to discuss their specific research project, justifying it on the basis of studies and results obtained during the first year.

At the end of the second year, Students are required to present to the Faculty the advancements in their research projects.

At the end of the third year, Students are required to present to the Faculty a general overview of their Thesis, to be admitted to the final exam.

RESEARCH activity should be a strong project involving interdisciplinary approaches to relevant problems in Biology and Medicine.
